Nursery

The nursery ministers to families by watching carefully after the safety and spiritual nurture of babies to three-year-olds during the Sunday morning worship services. We offer a babies–1s class and a 2s–3s class. It is our privilege to care for your child.

"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up." - Deuteronomy 6:4–7 (NIV)

Staff: The ACC nursery is a parent co-op and is staffed primarily by parent volunteers, as well as other volunteers from the congregation. In addition to being approved by the nursery director, each volunteer has also had a police background check.

Location: The nursery is located on the second floor of the synagogue. From the lobby take the stairway to the right.

Drop-Off and Pick-Up: Drop-off times begin at 9:30 and 11:00. The nursery is closed until then so the volunteers can thoroughly prepare the classrooms. Please pick up your child immediately after the service. (You are welcome to drop off and pick up your child at any time during the service.) Only a child’s caregiver is permitted to drop off and pick up the child. You are welcome to stay with your child to help ease the transition, if necessary.

Personal Belongings: Make sure all bottles, cups, diaper bags, etc. are clearly marked with your child’s name.

Food: We offer a healthy snack. If you do not want your child to have this snack, and/or you have a bottle or food, be sure to let the staff know. If your child has a food allergy, let us know every time you come to the nursery. Our staff changes, so not everyone will know about your child’s allergy.

Diapers and Bathrooms: Our staff does not change diapers. If your child’s diaper is dirty, we will come get you from the service. Similarly, we do not take children to the bathroom unless they indicate a need. Please have your child use the bathroom before coming to the nursery.

Illness: Please keep your child with you if he or she is showing signs or symptoms of illness.

Curriculum: We implement a Bible curriculum in the 2s–3s class that includes a Bible story and a related art activity. Be sure to talk to your child about what he or she is learning! A Parent Sheet allows you to follow up on each week’s lesson with an activity at home.
